I´m Isabel and as the owner of Villa La Era and during its tenure as a hotel, which I personally ran, I was the "in-house" chef and served many meals to my guests.  I am a Cuban/American who has lived over thirty years in Spain with my Spanish husband and our family.  Cooking has always been my passion and now I am going to put all that knowledge and practice to good use.  Rick Stein has given us the go ahead to do these courses based on his Spanish recipes from his new book, Rick Stein´s Spain: 140 new recipes inspired by my journeys off the beaten track, and I hope to do them justice and help many fans of both Rick Stein and Spanish food enjoy as many delicious dishes as possible.

I was present at the filming of these recipes and taken with their simplicity and goodness thought it would be great to teach others what I was learning just being there while he prepared them.  Experiencing firsthand Rick Stein's ease and flare in cooking the dishes for his BBC series Rick Stein´s Spain is the inspiration for these courses. We are preparing a fun and varied curriculum based on learning some delicious and basic Spanish dishes and I will be directing those courses.
